There are some wedding days that feel incredibly special from the moment they begin, and Paulina and Mike’s wedding at Smoke Rise Village Inn in Kinnelon, New Jersey was one of those days.
As a New Jersey wedding photographer, I love photographing couples in places that offer both beautiful scenery and a sense of history—and Smoke Rise Village Inn offers exactly that. Paulina and Mike’s day was filled with love, laughter, beautiful surroundings, and the kind of genuine moments that make wedding photography so meaningful.
A Romantic Wedding
at Smoke Rise Village Inn
Located in the scenic Smoke Rise community of Kinnelon, Smoke Rise Village Inn is one of Northern New Jersey’s most distinctive wedding venues. The historic stone building dates back to 1892, and the property combines its old-world character with elegant modern spaces. The cobblestone courtyard, country gardens, stone architecture, and surrounding greenery provide so many beautiful opportunities for wedding photographs. It is the kind of venue where you can create a wedding gallery with a variety of looks while still keeping everything connected to the character of the property. And for Paulina and Mike, it was the perfect setting for their wedding day.

Capturing
Paulina & Mike’s Wedding Day
One of my favorite things about wedding photography is that every couple has their own story. While the big moments are important—the ceremony, portraits, first dances, and celebrations—some of the photographs that become the most meaningful are often the moments that happen in between.
A quick glance between the bride and groom.
A laugh with a family member. The excitement before walking down the aisle.
A hug that lasts just a little longer.
Those are the moments I want my couples to remember years from now. With Paulina and Mike, I wanted their photographs to capture not only how beautiful their wedding day looked, but how it felt to be there.
Wedding Portraits
at Smoke Rise Village Inn
Smoke Rise Village Inn provides a gorgeous backdrop for romantic wedding portraits. The combination of the historic stone architecture, natural surroundings, gardens, and courtyard creates a timeless feel that works beautifully with both candid and posed photography.
Taking time for portraits is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. It gives a couple a chance to step away from the excitement for a few minutes and simply enjoy being together as newlyweds.
For Paulina and Mike, these moments allowed us to create photographs that were romantic, natural, and true to them.

Why Smoke Rise Village Inn Is a Beautiful NJ Wedding Venue
If you're searching for a wedding venue in Northern New Jersey, Smoke Rise Village Inn has a lot to offer.
The venue can host both ceremonies and receptions and offers indoor and outdoor spaces. Its historic setting gives weddings a distinctive atmosphere, while the on-site team works with couples throughout the planning process.
The property is also designed to host one wedding reception at a time, allowing the staff to focus their attention on the couple and their guests.
From a photography perspective, I especially love venues that give couples opportunities for beautiful portraits without having to travel to multiple locations. Smoke Rise Village Inn's combination of architecture, gardens, and outdoor spaces makes it a wonderful location for wedding photography.

A Wedding Day
Filled With Memories
A wedding gallery should tell the entire story of a wedding day.
That's why I love photographing the details, the emotions, the people, and all of the little moments that happen throughout the celebration.
When Paulina and Mike look back at their wedding photographs years from now, I hope they are transported right back to this day—to the excitement, the laughter, the love, and the people who surrounded them.
Those are the photographs that matter most.
